I have the time. I should look at all the photos I took in 2016. This is like a good thing to do that will make me grow as a photographer. Right? I hope so. Ask me in July if I feel grown. I can tell you right now I’m sick of looking at all the photos I took in 2016. But wait there were some good times! I loved all the photo adventures I got to have!!!! I got to shoot bikes! bikes and people. Tons of them! loved it. I always love going to the sewer district and getting to see in people’s houses. I got to see people be awkward during headshots. I would try so hard with my whole heart to not say something weird. Mostly I did a really good job. I talked about restaurants and tv shows and tried to find out all their secrets. I love all my Madison Magazine shoots! you know like at least 75%. People in love are always nice. There are no bridezillas in Madison, WI. It’s been years since I’ve had one. I also think all brides probably want to be nice to me cause I’m taking their photo so there’s that. Talking to the bridesmaids might be a whole other story. (insert funny emoiji here.)
I took photos in schools, at the humane society, in restaurants, up by the Capitol, in rooms with beautiful windows, and in rooms with no windows. I took photos of cats, mice, bikers, businessy people, trans people, comedians, pizza makers, mentors, friends, orange and white, teachers, grandparents, and people drinking.
yeah 2016. yeah.
I sorta have a band crush on this band. If you watch the movie they made you will too!! http://www.phoxband.com/ (it might be considered more of a music video. I’m not sure. Movie sounds good to me. ) They are going to be super famous in like 3 minutes if they aren’t already. I am sure of this. AAAANNNNNDDDD omg so nice. They were so nice I wondered if they had a plan to assign one or two of the band members to talk to me. I got to do team cheer at the end of the shoot -The one where everyone puts there hand in the middle with the “whooooooaaaa team” business. I love that shit. I think we yelled out something from the periodic table. That’s fun.
I took this photo for the cover of the Isthmus-I choose the backyard of the Eastside Club because it is a magical Madison location. If you are ever looking for me this summer I will probably be there. Playing croquet and drinking Pina Coladas. Or really more like the Hopolicious beer. Those Pina Colada get all sugary and I would feel sick after 2. I’m glad I thought this through.
I whole heartedly believe brunch is mostly about the drinks. The more drinks you have the better the brunch. The very last photo in this blog is one of my favorites. There was Alterra Coffee, this spritzer/white wine magical punch drink, and a beery mary! I think about brunch all week long.
I shot the very first brunch at One Barrel Brewing! This thing happened where the Nostrano people showed up with food and they call it a pop up brunch! Right? They all talked about it like it’s a thing so I got on board and was hip to the pop up idea of food. It does seem very smart and delicious. Best grits i’ve ever had! I mean the whole idea is just so cute. First the drinks show up and then different courses of food came -drinks were refilled and people were mingling. It was amazing. OH, and there was also this bourbon pudding at the end. I’m still thinking about that.
